Summer Camp
Beacon Summer Programs
Learning, exploration, and growth beyond the school year
Each summer, Beacon House offers a range of programs designed to support children, youth, and families beyond the school year. Beacon Summer Programs provide structure, connection, and meaningful opportunities for learning, movement, leadership, and growth during the summer months.
Beacon House summer programming serves elementary, middle, and high school youth through distinct offerings designed to meet young people at different stages of development while maintaining continuity of care, trusted relationships, and strong community connection.
Summer Camps & Youth Opportunities
Beacon House summer camps have a strong focus on children living in and around Edgewood Commons and the youth we serve during the school year, offering families safe, structured, and engaging options throughout the summer months.

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)
High school youth and young adults ages 13-24
Beacon House serves as a host site for the District’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), engaging teens in paid work experiences that support responsibility, confidence, and professional skill development.
Through SYEP, participants gain exposure to workplace expectations, strengthen career readiness skills, and build habits that support future education and employment pathways. This opportunity supports older youth as they take on increased responsibility and explore next steps toward adulthood.
Why Summer Programs Matter
Summer is a critical time for learning, development, and stability. Without access to structured, engaging opportunities, many young people experience learning loss, disengagement, or limited connection to positive supports.
Beacon Summer Programs ensure children and teens remain connected to trusted adults, meaningful experiences, and supportive community, helping younger students return to school ready to learn and older youth move forward with greater confidence and direction.
A Trusted Summer Community
Families and youth return to Beacon House summer programs year after year because they offer consistency, care, and a strong sense of belonging. Participants are known by name, supported by caring adults, and encouraged to grow, explore, and take meaningful steps forward with steady support over time.
Many summer camp counselors are Beacon House alumni who return to mentor younger youth, reflecting a deep sense of connection and commitment to the Beacon House community. Their continued involvement speaks to the lasting relationships and trust that define Beacon House as a place youth stay connected to over time.
