Athletics
Through
organized
sports
teams,
Beacon
House
provides
opportunities
for
youth
of
both
genders
to
participate
in
athletic
teams
that
teach
discipline,
sportsmanship,
self-esteem,
bonding,
and
decision
making.
Sports
teams
include
football,
basketball,
cheerleading,
baseball,
t-ball,
and
softball.
All
participants
are
required
to
maintain
no
less
than
a
2.0
grade
point
average.

As
a
participant
in
the
Greater
Washington
Police
Boys
and
Girls
Club
Pop
Warner
Football
League,
Beacon
House
boasts
both
city
and
regional
championship
football
teams!

Recreation
Recreational
programs
provide
youth
with
a
safe
and
healthy
outlet
for
having
fun.
Open
recreation
is
offered
at
Beacon
House
three
times
per
week
and
movie
night
every
Thursday.
Field
trips
to
bowling
allies,
skating
rinks,
basketball
games,
and
nature
walks
are
regular
occurrences.
